Waiting For The Weather

It’s the middle of July, and the daily high temps are running north of 100, and we are waiting for the first lightning storm of the monsoon season.

Most people shy away from inclement weather, but I have found over the years that some great images can be made when the weather turns sour.  Summer storms, winter snow or fall fog and I’m out the door and heading down the road a few miles to Saguaro National Park (Tucson Mountian District).

The desert is full of remarkable beauty any time of year, and the weather just makes it better. It is my privilege to make photographs of nature. As a high school classmate of mine said “Thanks Peter for your photos. Sites, most of us will never see. Yet you let everyone enjoy.”  -Jeff Schneider.

I enjoy making photographs, even if it means getting wet, cold or hot.

I hope you are having a great summer and thank you for supporting my photographic art.
